"Then I Passed" Series - "Dried" Poem and Photograph

E-mail Print PDF

Dried

What once flowed now bottled

So you can hoard your heart

That perfectly sculpted vessel

Will quickly fall apart,

A drop

Falls

through

Pouring to

Someone

better,

Someone

true.

The friendship faked as water

Has now turned to dust,

Empathetic smiles

Are still evident on the crust.

No, I do not know you.

No! I won't say why.

No, I cannot fix the crack

That has made your heart so dry.
