This month as the weather cools a bit in Sydney I decided to look back on some of my previous work to showcase it on the site. Both of the articles on the welcome page of the site here were written in bursts of inspiration. One poem “Optimistic Pessimism” looks at the ups and downs, highs and lows of the world. While “Generic Love Poem #08″ is a flight of fancy with an adventurous romanticism that I wanted to maintain a feel of innocence to.

The idea of an open road and an endless array of opportunities is always a creatively charged one. If you think of literature that uses a journey as a catalyst for events you will keep coming up with more and more candidates for best “road trip”. Think of Homer’s “Odyssey” or Kerouac’s “On the Road” or even the Bible in all its diverse translations. Every step is followed by chance and by fate, by fantasy and reality turning an ordinary thing such as travel into an explosion of possibilities.
