Then I Passed

Title image for 'Then I Passed' photography and poetry series

I had great dreams, they passed me by

I had great dreams, I let them die

I had great dreams and dreams of dreams

I had them all beside that stream

I sat with others long since passed

I followed them along that path

I sat with them among the trees

They never saw what I would see

A thousand people passing by

So many that had already died

Never understanding life

Because of simple pointless strife

I ate with some as money flowed

I walked the foreign streets alone

Peoples’ pride and power seemed

Such a strange and tiny dream

So again I pass on by

Still remembering I tried

To learn from every single step

The never ending cosmic debt
