The New Canvas Prints Now Available

I have been really busy at the moment in my spare time getting all of the first set of canvas wall art prints ready for sale. I am happy to say they are now available at Beautifulbeaches.com.au in a range of sizes.

If you have visited this site before and looked through my photography and especially my poetry series, then some of the prints will be familiar (especially the image at the top of the site). Seeing these works make it onto canvas is very satisfying as it is much nicer to look at photography once it is printed. I have some sample shots giving an idea as to how the prints will look once they are on a wall.

This is from a short series called ‘Reflections’ and you can buy this canvas here.

Creating New Canvas Prints

Hi everyone! I have been working on some canvas prints from some of my current photography as well as creating some from scratch. I have been wanting to do this for a while but time, work and everything else that life throws at you has slowed me down. I have the ‘test’ canvas prints on the way and they should be here by next week (exciting!). I am still confirming how and when I will make them available but this is likely through Beautiful Beaches (confirmed!) as well as Etsy and I want to pop off to some local markets as well.

Some Photos from the Depth of My Hard Drive

Sometime between losing a computer due to old age and getting a new one, and then another new one, I misplaced quite a few photos. However, I’ve now found them and have been digging through some of the shots. I haven’t had time to play around with some edits but I know I haven’t posted any shots on here for a while.

So here goes!

Sunrise over greenhouse

This was one of the first nice shots I got from my new DSLR and I still love it. It looks even better in full resolution of course as it shows the slight transparency of the greenhouse roof. Another lifetime it seems! So what’s next on this random photography tour?

Another Step Towards the Sunrise Photography & Poetry Series

Birds in the sky with sunset backgroundI am notoriously slow with producing new series but these things take time and they need to be done properly. Plus, it gives me something to do for a few years! The latest slow work I am giving the simple, working title of ‘sunrise’ which makes sense since that is the overall image theme.

Selling Your Art & Photography Online

LONDON, ENGLAND - FEBRUARY 10: A Christie's a...

There are many personal sites sharing art and photography online; but, most of them do not sell any of their works. This is usually because it is a tough market to crack and when you are starting out it is the last thing on your mind. I am a firm believer in concentrating on the art first and the selling second because no-one is going to buy art and photography unless it speaks to them.

New Home, New Photography Inspiration

Well, having moved to a new house and a completely new area I am ready for some new photography inspiration. It has been a while since I have shared some photography on here so I will share some possible works in progress, excuse the photos if they are not perfect yet!

Here are three shots I will be working on and hopefully will get a chance to do some writing soon too! I am still waiting on a new internet connection for my home so things are a bit slow at the moment!

Welcome to the New kjwriteleft.com for Writing and Photography

Photo of a river in black and white

From the original series "Then I Passed". Which has been used for our new background and header image!

Welcome back everyone and as promised the new website is finally here and looking better than ever. I, KJ, have been working with kjwriteleft.com for some time (a few years at least) and have enjoyed every minute of developing and building up this website, so much so that I really wanted to give it a special new home finally.

Most of you would have visited the kjwriteleft.com/beta address which ended up the impromptu home of kjwriteleft.com but has been outlived by KJ Takes a Blog, which is the oldest surviving remnant of an original site I did here a few years back with a single poetry series which was later published. (And still available BTW lol)

I have grown a lot with everyone online and learned a lot about digital expression an the power it has. Many of us online are the disenfranchised, the disillusioned and the desperate. For many, the internet is the only good outlet they have in their life and for others it is their only chance to showcase their talents.

I am from a small country town originally and even though I live in Sydney now I like the idea that everyone can share their voice equally online. In fact, it is my goal over the next few years to help as many people as possible realise their ambitions particularly if they revolve around writing and creative expression.

I have, in conjunction with kjwriteleft.com and my own heart, released Refuge Island, a new online creative project that I hope many of you will take the time to get involved with particularly if you are from Australia. I welcome you all back into my website and back into my heart and hope you enjoy the artistic journey that I hope you will take.
