Barriers

Painted smiles

Passing prayers

When you saw me sitting there

On the floor against a chair

So sure of what I had to do

And sure you had to do it too

To shave our heads

Repent and cry

Otherwise a darkened sky

Will overtake us on the road

The place that we should never go

Pulled down by the undertow

A small part player

Massive show

Amusement for the worldly rich

Watching us play pick up sticks

To build the pyre all around

Upon the unknown holy ground

Hold my hand

Pass right through

The faith that you were given too

Will take us from the cold and cruel

The ones that love the world so much

Can never pass that ash and dust
