Salvation and the Little Scroll

Imagine if you will, that I wrote here that I am a stigmatic. That I had a scar on my wrist, and another on my side. Would that make it true? This could be truth, fiction, or madness, or all of the above. So it is with Salvation which is both a novel, and a “little scroll”  to explore in any way you wish, to see and interpret in any way you want, and free to interpret it as truth or fiction – filled with art, music and writing. It is something I have been working towards producing and writing for over ten years. So I hope you will bear with me as I walk through some of the design, art and personal inspiration behind the series.

Eat the Little Scroll

These “root” “tree” “lightning” motifs used throughout Salvation are actually from the “Then I Passed” series of black and white photography.

The Lion and the Lamb

It has been a few years now since I started the foundation works for Salvation – with a short digital art installation called I Wear White. Without rehashing some traumatic experiences for me, I will say it resulted in armed police coming to my door,  and an ambulance taking me for a compulsory psychiatric evaluation on the orders of a doctor that I do not go to (other people decided to falsify a medical certificate). Despite no justice being done there (no apologies or reparations) I was happy to have passed the psych evaluation and was released not too long after. The only question the psychiatrist asked was if the “I Wear White” project was something to do with white supremacy. Indeed it was not!

So to continue this series after all of that has been a struggle of sorts, but now one large part of the project is done (The Little Scroll), the actual novel chapters will be following after. The great part of suffering for my own art and writing, is that I no longer care what people will think, except of course my amazing wife and my beautiful little daughter!

“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.

While I would love to say my creative work and writing is a great big F*&k you to friends who never kept in touch, or others who caused me so much trauma trying to gaslight me for so many years, it is in reality a labour of love in every respect.

Now, if you are not religious or a reader of the bible, then that is great news! My works are not “religious” in nature, and church is just another money making scheme for the most part, and so I hope you can approach salvation for what it is – and what it is will be entirely up to you. Nobody will view it or read it in the same way, and so, on this beautiful unique planet you can be assured that you are special and unique and, most importantly, divine in origin.

As a final note please remember to share my works and links to my work on your social media or with people you think may be interested. As an independent writer and artist I depend on people like you to help my works reach the right people.

“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.
